Creative producing

I’ve managed ambitious visual, poetry and career development programmes for organisations including Apples and Snakes, Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration and The Face magazine. I am currently Director of the studios Translating Nature and ShapedSound - working with sound, data and vibration as mart materials.

I’m interested in access, multi-sensory experiences – especially the tactile, musical and immersive – and building more sustainable futures with and for young people. So, projects that honestly consider context, environment, social justice and care are my jam. I’m always learning and prioritise collaborative, co-created and reflective practices when possible. Please email me to request my CV or if you’d like to work together.

Examples of a few orgs and programmes I’ve worked for below:

Translating Nature / ShapedSound

I am Studio Director at Translating Nature, a pioneering design studio working with sound and data as art materials and for the tactile, accessible sonic sculpture series ShapedSound, both founded by Dr Julie Freeman. My role covers everything from co-producing events, researching experiences with sound and communicating the product to a broad audience. We’ve showcased work at venues including V&A Museum, Turner Contemporary and Edinburgh Art Festival.

Apples and Snakes

I worked as a Producer for trailblazing spoken word organisation Apples and Snakes 2023-24. This included producing complex projects such as Future Voices – 40 short poetic films made by emerging poets across the UK, to celebrate the org’s 40th birthday.

House of Illustration

I was Schools and Families manager at House of Illustration (now Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration) from 2017-2022. I managed a whole range of exciting programmes, for school students, young people, D/deaf families and under fives. We worked with the changing exhibitions at the gallery to inspire the sessions, also providing training for teachers, educators and regular meet-ups for parents with young children.
